The idea of the mobile app was one that I’d had and sketched and realized during the class that it might be a good fit for the life coaching service.
The concept is to help give users a just-in-time boost of willpower, by letting them input places/categories that are “danger zones”, like fast food, ice cream, bakeries. When users approach those locations, the app would detect proximity, and suggest a) a healthy alternative or b) a healthier option at that location.
It also allows the user to dismiss the warning, and ask that the app “leave me alone”. If the user dismisses the alerts enough times–thresholds TBD–the app will inform the life coach, who can contact the user to work through whatever is causing the ongoing lapse in willpower.
